Summer's Eve Share

Despite what the schools say, it is not summer yet.  The temperatures have been jumping around here at the farm, keeping things interesting.  The transition from spring to summer can be tricky, especially here in Western Montana.  We've had our peppers and tomatoes planted for several weeks and we have to keep them nice and warm, but not too warm, so they'll keep on growing.  Each of the last two weeks, they've spent about half their time under row cover and half their time enjoying unfiltered sunshine.  It's a lot of tucking and untucking for us, but it will all be worth it in the end.  Visions of beautiful red bell peppers keep us going.

This week, we bring you a share that screams "Spring!" right in the face of summer.  In your box you'll find:

Salad Mix
Spinach
Bunched Asian Greens
Napa Cabbage
Swiss Chard
Napa Cabbage
Carrots
Radishes
Salad Turnips
Baby Bok Choy
Scallions

It's a bigger box than last week, but I know you're all up to the task.  More salad greens mean you have another chance to try those delicious tamari sunflower seeds over on www.autumnstirsthepot.com.  The napa cabbage is usually a cooing vegetable, but it can make a great salad too.  Chop it up with a little bleu cheese dressing or caesar dressing.  Carrots are in!  Along with more turnips and some beatiful red radishes, there are great snacking options here.  Autumn has a great Baby Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage Stir Fry recipe.  It's a good one.  Check it out!
