Shishito peppers are a mild, miniature pepper that can be pan-fried, cooked tempura-style, grilled or roasted. They have thin walls and their skin appears wrinkly. I like them simply pan-fried in a little bit of oil and seasoned with some sea salt. This method is so easy and takes little to no prep work. These peppers are addictive and make a great snack. Supposedly one in 10 has a hot kick to it, but I have yet to come across a hot one. They are a super easy, inexpensive appetizer to bring any party. In fact, in Japan they are served as bar food and they do taste great with a beer.
Store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
